The Dedham Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Middle School art teacher for both core and elective art classes. Position begins as soon as possible and is expected to last the remainder of the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold state licensure, preferably in art, through MA DESE.
- Experience teaching art classes
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or Department Chair
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Teach sixth, seventh, and eighth grade art courses: 3D Sculpture; Art for Life; and Creating 3D Space.
- Work with Fine Arts colleagues to align curriculum and lessons to established school and district objectives.
- Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Effectively implement district initiatives.
- Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
