The Dedham Public Schools, home to America’s first tax supported, free public school, is looking for an Educational Interventionist to join the team at Oakdale Elementary School!

School-year, Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

 

Qualifications:

MA DESE License (Elementary)

 

Job Goal: To provide a supplemental educational program designed for Elementary students whose academic attainment is below the level appropriate for children of their age or grade level.

 

Essential Job Functions:

1. Implement developmentally appropriate activities and strategies, within classrooms and in separate settings, which support literacy and math.

2. Collaborate regularly with regular and special education staff.

3. Provide an environment of acceptance that supports and respects each child's gender, culture, language and ethnicity.

4. Provide opportunity for parents to become involved in their child's growth and development through parent education and participation.

5. Assess student growth and progress through standardized and developmental assessments.

6. Review student data to inform instruction.

7. Maintain accurate and current student records.

8. Develop annual request for materials and supplies to support established curriculum.

 

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Strive to improve professional competence.
  2. Exhibit dependability and punctuality in assigned duties.
  3. Display appropriate personal and professional traits that exhibit a positive role model for students.
  4. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  5. Strive to achieve the objectives and expectations found in  the Teacher Evaluation Handbook.
  6. Collaborate with other specialists and share pertinent information with building administration and intervention teams.
  7. Attend meetings as required.
  8. Complete other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
